The Project
Recent years have seen a rapid growth in the scale and number of initiatives aimed at tackling climate change and bringing about a transition to clean energy, both within and beyond the remit of the Clean Development Mechanism. But which features of these actors, initiatives and policy processes are resulting in effective climate and sustainable development outcomes, which are not and why?
This innovative research programme, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council of the UK, focuses on the governance of clean development in Argentina, India and South Africa and how it is shaped by global and regional initiatives on clean energy and carbon finance.
